* Vromm....... Lewis Hamilton(McLaren -Mercedes) won the F1 Monaco Grand Prix yesterday. This win is his 2nd win of the season, besides the Australian GP. How green are F1 cars these days? Not really green yet, maybe in years to come. In its bid to lower fuel consumption in the race cars, Federation Internationale de I'Automobile in Paris, an organisation that governs much of the world's auto racing proposed 1 1/2 years ago a "10 year total freeze" on engine development to have F1 leading the way to a greener future. It encourages rapid innovation in hybrid and alternative fuel systems eg kinetic energy recovery systems. F1 is behind the curve with regard to green technology. The Indy Racing League already uses 100% ethanol while NASCAR is following soon.
